Elizabeth S. Palmer, DMA is an adjunct professor at University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the music department and a residential college coordinator at University of Southern California.
She is the founder of Modern Maestro, Inc., a non-profit committed to supporting music programs in Prince George's County, Maryland through enrichment programs, professional development for teachers, and fiscal sponsorship for school-based music programs. She is also the founder and primary investigator of The Palmer Research Group.
Her music research interests include: social and cultural capital (Bourdieu, 1979), social justice, and culturally relevant/responsive music teaching.
